Share the Love Award by DeVoe Subaru in Naples, Florida
Golden Rescue in Naples, Inc and its Board of Directors are so very appreciative of being once again chosen as the hometown charity by DeVoe Subaru dealership in Naples, Florida. Not only was $4000 awarded from the Subaru of America "Share the Love" event, but the generous Defoe family matched the funds! Thank you for believing in our mission!
Golden Rescue in Naples, Inc (GRINinc) is a locally based, all volunteer Golden Retriever Rescue which was founded in 2004. Since then it has taken in, medically treated and rehabilitated, and re-homed over 450 Goldens. In 2009, our major focus switched to assisting the discarded and abandoned senior Golden as well as those with special needs...these are the overlooked and often euthanized silent population. These dogs deserve the opportunity for excellent vet care to give them a second chance and greatly improve their quality for life.
GRINinc accomplishes its mission through rescuing dogs directly from shelters, owner relinquishment, and veterinarian offices when clients are looking for an alternative to euthanasia. Our mission also includes awarding grants through our Gifted Golden Grant Program...a unique, one of a kind program invented to assist qualified Golden Retriever rescues throughout the U.S. These rescues are willing to bring in the senior and special needs Goldens into their program. This is a huge financial commitment and often so overpowering, that regrettably many rescues turn away from these special dogs. With the help of our grants, rescues can and do save, rehabilitate and often adopt these dogs into loving homes where they will get nutritious food, fresh water, excellent veterinary care and, best of all, lots of love and care for the rest of their lives.

Our GOLDEN COLLAGE highlights some of the Goldens that have come into GRINinc or other rescues that are in need of expensive veterinarian care and are recipients of our Gifted Golden grant. They are strays taken in by shelters or dogs that can no longer be cared for by their owner; some are so old and /or so medically unstable that they are "unadoptable" and become permanently cared for by a foster home with guardianship by the rescue. Some are dogs whose medical, emotional, and/or behavioral needs have been treated and then they have been adopted. Some are adopted GRINinc goldens who required special veterinary care for a serious illness and GRINinc is there for support by offering a grant to our families in need of financial assistance. We have a vast, heartfelt mission which requires support from generous donors who know we treat our goldens like GOLD!

Since our Gifted Golden Grant Program started, Golden Rescue in Naples, Inc has spent approximately $152,000.00 in order to fulfill our mission!

In gratitude, the charitable donations of animal lovers and organizations like Subaru of America and DeVoe Subaru of Naples will assist GRINinc to continue

"Mending hearts...One lucky Golden Retriever at a time"TM.

THIS WAS THEN ... June 2004 - June 2009

And THIS IS NOW ....
We remain as Golden Rescue In Naples, Inc. Many of our volunteers have been with us since 2004. Those volunteers continue to dedicate their time to our wonderful breed...the Golden Retriever. We specifically set our goal to assist the senior and special needs goldens through funding rescues that have these special goldens under their wing. GRINinc continues to educate the public on responsible pet ownership...we continue to stand behind our breed with education about the care of the Golden Retriever. Of course we support the spay and neuter programs. GRINinc works closely with other Golden Retriever rescues to assure that every golden gets a second chance.

Volunteers who had previously assisted other Golden rescues founded Golden Rescue In Naples, Inc. With a combined total of 20+ years of experience in place, they have pooled their knowledge and experience to continue their passion and efforts. This organization is comprised of volunteers that are totally dedicated to finding loving, responsible "forever" homes for unwanted, mistreated, neglected or abandoned Golden Retrievers. In addition to providing rescue service to Goldens, we provide indirect assistance to other dogs by providing contacts to other breed-specific and all-breed rescues. By removing Goldens from the shelters, we free up space for other homeless dogs. Our goal is to work closely as a network with other rescues and shelters in an effort to re-home the displaced Goldens. Another important goal is to educate the public on responsible pet ownership which includes complete veterinary care of the Golden Retriever, spay and neuter programs, obedience training, information about the breed and ethical and responsible breeding practices.
