Dog Days Of Summer Are Here! |
Wow! Are they ever. For those of you who are new to
rescue, let me explain. Summertime is the worst for
every rescue that we know of. Intakes go up
due
to people leaving for vacations, (I swear, it's true,
I've actually picked up dogs that were left at vets to
be euthanized because the owners didn't want to take
them, or had nowhere to leave them ), the cute eight
week old "Christmas puppies" have now turned into eighty
pound terrors because of no training, it's so hot that
the owners just don't feel right leaving the dog tied up
outside all day long <sigh>. You name it, we hear it
during the summer.
Okay, so intakes go up, what else happens? The number of
foster homes goes down ! All our
"seasonal" fosters return "North" and other fosters plan
vacations so they want a well deserved break during the
summer. This leaves us with no choice but to kennel some
dogs if we want to save them. Well, what's wrong with
that?
The third thing that happens every
summer! Donations go down! This
happens with almost every non-profit that we know of.
Once again you lose your "seasonal" people, people are
spending money on vacations, kids are starting school
soon, and yes... it's so unfortunate but true,
hurricanes leave us wanting to donate what we do have to
disaster plagued areas.
The
"Loose Change Drive"
outlined below is an easy
way that you can assist our Goldens in need, STARTING
TODAY !!

daily collected "loose change" can
and will assist Goldens in need
it WILL save Golden lives!
Simply empty all your loose change, each and every day, into a
specified container
then Quarterly or Biannually, turn the change container over to
GRIN Inc.!
It's
a very simple way to assist
the loose change won't even be
missed!

A LITTLE CHANGE WILL GO A LONG WAY!
You are welcome to visit our Education Table the 2nd Saturday of
each month
at
PetsMart, Naples, FL, to donate your loose change
OR
collection can be arranged by contacting our rescue line (239)
514-2715.
Following the processing of your loose change donation,
you
will receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes.
100%
of your loose change donation is tax deductible,
as
with any and all financial contributions!

Forever Golden Endowment Fund |
Two generous anonymous donors have
pledged to match dollar for dollar (up to $25,000) every
contribution made to GRINinc's
FOREVER GOLDEN ENDOWMENT
FUND
during the next fiscal year (ends
May 31, 2007). A special investment account has been
set up for this fund.
The principal will be set aside to be used for
emergencies only and the interest will be used to pay
some annual operating expenses. We hope that donors
would recognize that a contribution made to this
matching fund is a SPECIAL ONE TIME DONATION and that
GRINinc still welcomes and needs contributions to cover
the necessary daily operational expenses of the
organization. This is a special opportunity for our
donors to effectively DOUBLE the amount of their
contributions to our FOREVER GOLDEN ENDOWMENT FUND.
Donors should also check with their employers to see if
their company has a matching policy as well. Many
companies will match their employees contributions to a
non-profit charity group such as GRINinc. If you would

Macy's Semi-Annual Charity Event !! |
BE A
PART OF THE SEMI ANNUAL MACY'S CHARITY EVENT!
WE NEED YOU TO BE THERE FOR OUR GOLDENS!
Golden Rescue In Naples, Inc has been
participating in the Macy's Charity Event for almost two
years! The Macy's Charity Day is on September 16th at
Macy's stores all over the country. In the past, Macy's has
allowed us to set up our information table in the Mall
Entrance of the store in Naples at Coastland Shopping
Center. WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US SELL THE
TICKETS AT THE NAPLES STORE ALONG WITH GIVING OUT
INFORMATION ABOUT OUR RESCUE. At the last Charity Event we
were able to set up our education table on other dates prior
to September 16th. So the more volunteers we have the more
times we can set up our table and... sell more
tickets...remember ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THESE
TICKETS GO TO GRINinc. The tickets are for $5.00 each .
Each ticket will allow the purchaser a 20% discount on
almost all items in the store bought on September 16th. If
you would like to purchase tickets for yourself, your
relatives , your friends send a check made out to GRINinc
for the specific amount ..remember the tickets are $5.00
each.
